About Mammograms at MUSC Health

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women – but if detected early, the disease can usually be treated successfully. With convenient locations and a team of fellowship-trained radiologists, MUSC Health is making it easier than ever for women to take control of their breast health, all backed by the state’s only NCI-designated cancer center.

Guidelines from the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Society of Breast Imaging (SBI) recommend annual mammograms for women age 40 and older. If you believe you are at risk for breast cancer, please contact your health care provider, as some women may benefit from a high-risk breast evaluation.

To schedule your annual mammogram at one of our locations, please contact us at the numbers in the specific locations below or schedule here.

Regardless of where you have your mammogram done, a fellowship-trained MUSC Health radiologist who specializes in breast imaging will read your results within 24 hours. Diagnostic breast imaging services and biopsies are offered at our Hollings Cancer Center and the East Cooper Medical Pavilion locations.

Mobile Mammography

MUSC Hollings Cancer Center launched its state-of-the-art Mobile Health Unit in 2022 to continue its mission to provide cancer screening and education services to communities designated as the most medically underserved in South Carolina. MUSC Health will maintain your mammography images and reports for 10 years. Any of your previous mammograms and mammogram reports performed at MUSC within the past 10 years can be sent to another facility at your request. Please visit Medical Records at MUSC Health or contact 843-792-3881 to obtain further instructions.
